4. Odin’s odd horse
As befits the greatest of the Norse gods, Odin’s horse Sleipnir had an unusual feature. What was it?
A) Eight legs ü
B) Mane of fire
C) Neigh like a thousand trumpets
D) Two heads
In addition to his non-standard anatomy, which allowed Odin to travel at great speed between the worlds of the living and the dead, Sleipnir was able to bear his master over water and through the air. Strange, too, was his parentage: he was the offspring of Svadilfari, a giant’s stallion, and the mischief-god Loki, who had taken the form of a mare.
